Keto Big Mac Salad


Ingredients for the Salad:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salad greens of your choice we used Romaine Lettuce
  • 1 small Roma tomato
  • Dill pickles we used hamburger slices
  • 1 cup Colby or Cheddar Cheese
  • Toasted Sesame seeds optional

Ingredients for the Special Sauce:

  • ½ cup Sugar Free Mayo we make our own
  • ½ cup Full Fat sour cream
  • 1 table spoon tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons yellow Mustard
  • 2 tablespoon Pickle Juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated Golden Monk fruit
  • ½ a medium white or yellow onion sauteed in butter and finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Pink salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked pepper to taste
  • A tiny pinch of allspice maybe 1/16 of a teaspoon optional but recommended


  • Wash and chop your veggies. The onion can be chopped and then minced after they have been sauteed.
  • To sauté the onion, chop it and add to a skillet with the butter. Sauté on medium heat until the onions are caramelized. Be sure not to cook on high heat because you don’t want to burn the butter. Remove from the skillet and mince the hot onions until fine but not mushy. Set aside to cool.
  • In a small bowl add in the rest of the sauce ingredients and whisk until thoroughly combined. Add in the cooled onions and mix well. Taste and add the amount of salt and pepper you prefer.
  • To toast the sesame seeds add them to a dry skillet over medium low heat. Toss them around until they begin to become fragrant and take on a toasty color. Remove immediately and pour onto a cool plate. Do not leave them in the skillet because they will continue to toast and might burn and that won’t be good. This is totally optional. It is super yummy though!

Plate your salad

  • To your salad bowl or plate add the lettuce. Top with the beef, tomatoes, pickles and cheese. Drizzle the special sauce over top and sprinkle the sesame seeds to garnish and dig in!!!
