We have several favorite stores we like to shop at for our keto products. Some stores we frequent are HEB, Costco, Sams, ALDI, and Sprouts.
Walmart is often my go-to (Sherri). I like that I can order online, they do the shopping and they load it in my car. I call that winning. Ordering it online also helps me stay in my budget and not buy impulsively.
When you do go shopping, you will spend a lot less time at the store than you used to, pre-keto. (once you get the hang of it)

Inventory will vary from store to store but this should give you an idea of where to start. We want to warn you, this post is very photo heavy. We took pictures of everything we could find at Walmart that was keto-friendly so it would be easy for you to know what you are looking for. Scroll to the bottom to get the printable file.
Here is the ultimate Walmart Keto Grocery list.
We use a lot of cream cheese in our household. We like to use it to thicken sauces or making our Shortbread Cheesecake Bars. It is a great dip for celery as well. We use the Philadelphia brand because it contains the fewest ingredients and the least carbs.
Butter, especially grass-fed, is a good source of fat. Kerrygold butter is a great brand of butter and one of the best tasting. Read ingredients, as long as the only ingredients are pasteurized cream and salt it is fine to use on the keto diet.
It is best to look for bacon that is uncured and nitrate free. If you are strict/clean keto, we do not recommend getting your bacon at Walmart. We have yet to find bacon from Walmart that did not contain sugar or nitrates. Celery powder is a nitrate. If the bacon claims to be nitrate-free, but still contains celery powder, it is not nitrate free. If you find bacon that does not contain some form of sugar, nitrate, or celery powder we would love to know about it.
Heavy Whipping Cream
We love Heavy Whipping Cream for its versatility. We use it in our coffee instead of sugary creamers. Not a coffee drinker? Check out this Bulletproof Chocolate Almond Milk made with heavy whipping cream. It is a staple in many of our dinner and dessert recipes. Heavy whipping cream is also a great base for keto gravy.
Sausage is always a quick go-to meal. Sausage and cabbage or sausage and broccoli are quick and easy. It is almost impossible to find any without sugar used in the curing process but can be found. We do not buy any that contain modified food starch, sugar, maltodextrin, or corn syrup.
Usually, the black forest ham is the safest bet. When buying deli meat make sure honey is not in the name. Do not be afraid to ask them for a list of ingredients.
Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
Pepperoni can be baked or microwaved for a min to make pepperoni chips. Or make our fathead dough for a great keto pizza.
Pecans and Walnuts
Walmart has a large variety of nuts. We keep pecans and walnuts on hand for recipes or just snacking. Try these candied pecans for a sweet treat.
Pistachios are a higher carb choice than pecans or walnuts but can be enjoyed in moderation. Pistachios are great in THIS tasty recipe.
Almond & Coconut Flour
Once you get used to baking with keto-approved flours, you will be amazed at what you can make keto.
Xanthan Gum is great for thickening sauces and baking. If you can’t find it at your local Walmart you can get it HERE at Amazon. We used it in our Keto Sweet and Sour Meatballs and our Keto Mongolian Beef.
Keto Approved Sweeteners
Walmart has a large variety of keto-friendly sweeteners. Many ask us which is the best. All of them! We love Pyure because it almost tastes like marshmallows. Splenda Naturals tastes the closest to actual sugar. Great Value has liquid stevia that is great to carry with you. We have found that making a mixture of these sweeteners with golden monk fruit tastes the best. Avoid all sweeteners that say “in the raw” or “bakeable blend.” Those will contain maltodextrin or sugar.
100% Unsweetened Bakers Chocolate Bars
We have yet to find chocolate bars that do not contain some form of sugar or soy. A great way to enjoy chocolate and stay keto is to use 100% Unsweetened bakers chocolate bars, melt, then add your sweetener. Spread on a parchment-lined pan and let cool.
Frozen Riced Cauliflower and Broccoli
You will find this in the frozen section. It is perfect for a quick dinner night. Make sure to read the ingredients. The flavored ones sometimes have food starch added.
Low-Carb Marinara Sauce
We make keto pizza with our fathead dough at least once a week. Rao’s is one that has the least amount of carbs. Though,
Cheese is great in every recipe. You can also buy the sliced cheese and make Keto Cheese Crackers. Best to buy cheese in the block form as pre-shredded cheese has potato starch added to it to help keep it from clumping.
Veggie Zucchini Spirals
Though we prefer to spiralize our own zucchini, these are great for busy nights. You will find these in the frozen section of Walmart.
Walmart has a great selection of oils. Light-tasting olive oil makes the best keto mayonnaise. We do not recommend cooking with olive oil because of its low smoke point. Check out this quick video on making quick homemade keto mayonnaise.
Avocado and Algae Oil
To cook with we recommend and use avocado oil and algae oil. We also like to use algae oil and coconut oil to drizzle on our foods after they are cooked for an added boost of healthy fats. Hands down our favorite oil for cooking is algae oil. It has 75% less fat than olive oil and the highest level of monounsaturated fat. It also has a smoke point of 485 degrees.
Lard, Tallow, and Duck Fat

Organic grass-fed ghee has multiple benefits. Boosts energy, heart-healthy, reduces inflammation, anti-cancer, vitamin-rich are just a few of the benefits.
Eggs are a great source of bioavailable protein, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and omega-3.
Grass-fed beef is your best choice, though not necessary. You can enjoy all forms of beef, poultry, wild-caught fish, pork, and organ meats.
Some really great choices in the produce section include spinach, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, all leafy greens, asparagus, zucchini, celery, mushrooms, and cabbage.
Enjoy berries in moderation. Strawberries and raspberries are the lowest carbs. Blueberries are great in moderation.
Bone broth is a great source of collagen and gelatin. Just watch out for added sugar. Check out this great list of many benefits of bone broth.
Unsweetened Almond Milk
Unsweetened almond milk is great for a milk replacement. Make sure to read the ingredients as some brands do contain soy.
These seeds are a great source of fiber and vitamins. Our Best Keto and Low-Carb Granola use all three for a healthy low-carb snack.
Everything Seasoning For Bagels & More
This is a great seasoning with no added ingredients. It is great on avocado, egg or egg salads, fish, and veggies.
Frozen berries are great for making our Keto Strawberry and Chia Seed Jam. Make sure the only ingredient is frozen berries.
Tessemae’s Ranch Dressing
Tessemae’s Ranch Dressing is the cleanest store-bought ranch we have found. It is often found in the produce section. You can also make homemade ranch dressing that is better than any store-bought. See the video b
Several hot sauces that do not have added sugar are Louisiana Brand Original, Texas Pete, Crystal Louisiana’s, Cholula, Frank’s RedHot, Tabasco, and Valentina.
Looking for a crunchy alternative to chips. Pork rinds are great to use for dipping. Flavored pork rind often has sugar or maltodextrin added.
Canned tuna is a great source of protein. If you are trying to stay away from soy make sure to read ingredients. Many have soy or vegetable broth added. Vegetable broth is soy.
MCT oil is one of the healthiest fats. You can read about it and other healthy sources of fats HERE.
Ketogenic Coffee and Creamer
If you are a very busy person and prefer quick and now instant coffee, then you can check out their keto coffee and creamer line.
We usually prefer to use almond butter. Walmart does not have almond butter that is sugar-free or palm oil-free. So we thought we would try Nuttzo. The only ingredients are cashews, almonds, brazil nuts, flax seeds, chia seeds, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, and Celtic sea salt. It is 5 net carbs per serving and tastes great.
Bai tastes great and is completely clean keto.
This drink is sparkling water that is flavored with natural flavors.
Rao’s or Mezzetta Marinara Sauce
Both of these marinara sauce are low-carb and no added sugar. Great for a quick fat head pizza night. or a zucchini noodle spaghetti.
Applegate Naturals Uncured Beef Hot Dogs or Nathan’s Famous is the cleanest you will find at Walmart.
Definitely pick up some cacao powder. You can use just like you would use cocoa powder but with added benefits.
This is a great source of protein and can be mixed into a drink or baked with.
As with everything else just need to check ingredients. Daisy is the cleanest brand we have found.
Thai Kitchen Coconut Milk/Cream
We always keep both of these on hand. Thai Kitchen is the brand we use. Some other brands have only water and coconut extract in their ingredients. So be sure you’re getting the real deal.
Fiorucci Panino Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella
Great for a quick snack on the go.
These are great instead of chips. They have cheddar cheese, Asiago and pepper jack, and Parmesan flavor. The only one you should stay away from is the bacon BBQ flavor because it contains added sugar.
